Cut out the do-a-dot cards; set a few of the cards in your maths station. Give the children do-a-dot markers. The cards have the numeric number on the upper left corner. Allow the children to identify the number and to find the matching numbers on the pumpkin. Allow the children to dot the matches. Example: If the card has number 10, the children should find all number 10’s and place a dot on each number 10 on the pumpkin. Help children find the correct number to dot if they need help. The cards also have the number word at the bottom; the word is dotted. Children may trace the number word, or they may dot the word with dot markers.
Do-A-Dot cards are numbered 1 - 10. The cards come in both small or large card options; choose whichever works best in your classroom. This activity provides opportunity for maths skills practice, fine motor skills practice, and even some literacy skills practice.
